Teacher Aide Position

The Role:
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher Aides to join our team. These roles are integral to supporting our teachers in delivering effective and engaging learning experiences for students across various subjects and year levels.
As a Teacher Aide, you will work under the direction of classroom teachers to:
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with special educational requirements.
Assist in the preparation and organisation of learning materials and classroom resources.
Support students with their academic tasks, understanding instructions, and completing assignments.
Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive and productive learning atmosphere.
Supervise students during breaks, excursions, and other school activities as required.
Assist with administrative tasks related to student support and classroom management.
Contribute to the well-being and pastoral care of students.
We are looking for individuals who possess:
A genuine passion for working with young people and supporting their learning journey.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
Patience, empathy, and a strong understanding of diverse learning styles and needs.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
A proactive and adaptable approach to challenges.
Previous experience working with adolescents or in an educational setting is highly desirable.
A commitment to upholding the school's values and promoting a safe and inclusive environment.

Itinerant Music Teachers
Inspire the Next Generation of Musicians at St Peter’s College!
Are you a talented musician with a passion for teaching? St Peter’s College in Palmerston North is looking for enthusiastic Itinerant Music Teachers to help our students find their rhythm in 2026.
We are looking for tutors who can teach Piano, Guitar (Acoustic/Electric), and Bass Guitar, Drums.
What we are looking for: We need adaptability and energy! Whether it’s classical, rock, or pop, we want teachers who can inspire our Year 7–13 learners to master their chosen instruments. You should be organized, committed, and ready to support the special Catholic character that defines our school community.
When: Wednesdays, Thursdays or Friday (Commencing Term 1, 2026).
Type: Fixed-term position for the 2026 academic year.
Hours: Dependent on student uptake.
